October is breast cancer awareness month

The Canadian Cancer Society says awareness and early detection can be the key to surviving breast cancer.  This October, they will be spreading the word and urging donations.

In the South East region, 31 women per 100,000 people die from breast cancer, and the local incidence rate of breast cancer among women is 174 per 100,000 people, where Ontario's average rate is 132 per 100,000.
