Whooping cough cases end

Although there have been no more cases of whooping cough reported after two
students from Madoc and Tweed areas fell ill, some unvaccinated students remain
suspended from school.

First identified Nov 21, an outbreak was declared.  To date no evidence
of transmission has been seen.  The Health Unit identified 170 students
who were overdue for pertussis vaccination and the local doctors, students and
staff were notified and vaccinations were provided at the schools.
