March Break – a Great Time
to Vaccinate!
Hastings and Prince Edward Counties/March
13, 2017 - Hastings Prince Edward Public Health (HPEPH) has issued
suspension notices to local students with incomplete immunization records.
Vaccine-preventable diseases,
such as measles, mumps and whooping cough, are still a threat. They continue to
infect children, resulting in hospitalizations every year.
1,400 suspension notices were
issued last week to students with incomplete immunization records. This is the
second and final notice to go out to students.
Students must provide updated immunization records, conscientious
objections, or medical exemptions to Public Health prior to Friday April 21st to avoid
suspension.
For the convenience of students
and parents, additional vaccination clinics are being offered by Public Health
during March Break as outlined below.
