Position:  Clinical Educator - RN

Region:  Hastings, Prince Edward

Description:  

As a front line nursing leader, these positions provide support and education to groups of nursing and/or personal support staff ensuring safe, quality, ethical care provision. 

Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice, Knowledge and Innovation, the Clinical Consultant will assist with clinical practice and education issues, support operations in achievement standards and practices, policy & procedure development, project management, quality and CQI tools and processes and program development.

QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate in Nursing ? Masters Degree preferred
5-10 years nursing experience with minimum of 2-3 years? experience in Community Health Nursing, Home Health Care preferred
CNA certification in Community Health Nursing an asset
Prior Consulting experience an asset
Formal education in quality management processes and tools
Extensive and expert knowledge of clinical practice standards, regulation and legislation
In good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario
Drivers? license required
Travel required

RESPONSIBILITIES
Timely and responsive consultation to customer clinical inquiries and provide information, problem solving, interpretation;
Supports the development and implementation of overall care and service delivery systems design,  tools, processes, policies and procedures;
 Monitors compliance and provides support to operations;
Builds capacity in key customer group i.e. providing education opportunities, teamwork, consultation/ collaboration;
Connects and builds relationships with the key customer groups;
Embraces innovative thinking by looking for evidence, benchmarking and involving key stakeholder in dialogue and discussion re systems and service delivery options;
Participate in the design, development,  implementation and evaluation  of clinical programs i.e. Mental Health, Palliative Care, Wound Care through collaboration and shared accountability;
Provides coaching and mentoring of key customer groups  on various quality care and service delivery;
Actively participates in key areas in the home health clinical community;
