Position:  Health Van Driver

Region:  Frontenac & Kingston

Health Van Driver is required to transport clients to and from prebooked medical appointments in an accessible vehicle and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. 

The successful candidate's responsibilities include:
Drivers will be scheduled in advanced and will pick up clients at their homes; at scheduled times; to transport to and from medical appointments both in town and out of town
Majority of appointments are to and from their homes 
Drive in a safe and responsible manner
Must have a clean abstract
Keep appropriate records that are legible
Assist clients to and from appointments
Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and comply to VON policies and procedures
Must have Class G valid driver’s license; clean driver’s abstract 
Defensive Driving certificate preferred 
Current First Aid and CPR certificate required 
Experience working with seniors
Some experience with driving seniors to medical appointments
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance
Ability to speak French is an asset in French Designated areas 
Current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required upon the start of your employment 
A  Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may be required 
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Fast-paced environment; Attention to Detail; Lift and carry using appropriate lifting techniques; Bend, push, pull, grip, reach, kneel, crouch using good body mechanics; Walk sit, stand, climb stairs; Repetitive fine hand movement

Other Relevant Information:
The successful candidates will be required to pick up clients in the Greater Kingston area for pre arranged medical and dialysis appointments.
