Family and Children's Services of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington

Ontario’s Children’s Aid Societies (CAS’s) are not-for-profit agencies that protect children from physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect. For more than 100 years in Ontario, these Societies have been keeping children safe, helping parents build healthy families and providing safe and nurturingLink to Strategic Plan videoenvironments for young people.

Each CAS is locally based in order to understand and respond to the specific needs of children and families in each community. Many CAS’s, like ours, are known as Family and Children’s Services.

The Government of Ontario funds each CAS for child protection services we’re required to provide by law. Some CAS’s, like ours, have fundraising programs to raise and distribute money for services that the province doesn’t fund. These may include parent education programs, enrichment programs to promote healthy development and educational opportunities for children in care.

Child protection is our mandate. We investigate any situation where a child under 16 has been, or is threatened with, physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse, or neglect by a caregiver or a person in a position of authority. Our goal is to keep families together. Removing a child from their home is the last option and only used when there is a clear and immediate danger to the child.

Position:  Foster Recruitment Outreach Specialist

Region:  Frontenac & Kingston


Reporting to the Manager of Community Relations and working with multiple departments, the Recruiter will be primarily responsible for recruiting potential foster parents. This position would be the effective entry point to all recruits applying to the Agency to be a foster parent, including those who are becoming a foster parent
on the road to an adoption. This is a new position that focusses on entry-point recruiting that previously was only part of the overall recruitment portfolio. It is a two year contract with an expectation that the position will be renewed. Highly independent, the incumbent will work on a flexible schedule that takes into account the
needs of potential recruits.

Required Qualification:
  • Proven sales, marketing or recruitment experience or equivalent field required
  • A Bachelor’s degree or College certificate/diploma required – Marketing, Business, Human Resources
  • preferred
  • Exceptional social and communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Proven experience with public speaking and presentation skills
  • Organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong results driven
  • orientation, and high degree of autonomy and accountability
  • Flexible work hours required, this position requires significant evening and weekend work
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong community relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to ongoing learning
  • Strong listening skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Extensive travel involved across Counties of Frontenac and Lennox and Addington
  • Valid driver’s licence with access to a vehicle
  • Proficiency in social media, standard business software
  • Experience with sales software considered an asset
  • Bilingualism (fluency in French and English) is an asset

Salary:  TBD

Terms of Employment:  35 hours/week * flexible if required
