Don't visit seniors or care facilities when you are sick

Six Quinte-area long term care homes have declared outbreaks. In addition to not visiting when people are sick, it's also important for visitors to get the flu shot.

Last year, there were nine outbreaks and the number generally goes up and down each year ranging from three to 15.

So far, the majority of deaths have been in people 65 years and older and the next largest group is those 45 to 64 years of age, followed by those 20 to 44.
